Early Years Scholarships

Our learning experience couldn’t get any better than this. On offer is a chance to study in one of the most amazing provinces in China and work within a professional early year’s context. Not only will you be embedded in a leading Chinese University to study the degree in Childhood Studies you will also work within a local Chinese school gaining valuable teaching and cultural experiences along the way. Along with this at the end of the two years period you will also have gained the UK Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (PGCE) that can attract QTS and QTLS in UK schools once completed. Your third year will be spent in a UK partner University to complete the final year of your BA (Hons) In Childhood Studies. This learning experience is unique to PCt2U and to register for the scholarship you will have to complete your application form for approval. As you can imagine this is a very popular scholarship program as it is worth over £15000 to our students especially if they go onto complete the final year of the Masters in Early Years Studies in the UK. Our scholarship programs will be starting in September 2021 this year so if you want to enrol for this scholarship please do not delay your application as this unique debt free training and learning experience is on a first come first served basis and we have limited allocations for September 2021. PCt2U Masters Scholarship

Programme Specification

Duration: 3 Years

Courses studied:

  • Year 1 and 2 – China BA (Hons) Education Studies / Primary Education (PE, 3-11 includes teaching placements)
  • Year 3 – Masters in Early Years Education and Childhood Studies – UK University

All candidates need to:

  • be native English speakers aged 19 and over;
  • gain a total of 240 credits, 120 credits at level 4 (or equivalent) and 120 credits at level 5 in Early Years or a related subject;
  • hold GCSEs English and Maths minimum C grade, or equivalent qualification (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)
  • work in an educational setting from the beginning and for the duration of the courses; and have a successful clearance for Disclosure and Barring Service (i.e. a police background check) and Occupational Health

Scholarship details:

The programme allows students to engage with current issues and debates relevant to Early Years Education, increasing understanding of policy development and developing leadership knowledge and skills to assess the quality of early years practice. This joint programme, which includes the first two years of study in China and the final year of study in the UK, is fully sponsored.  The sponsored programme aims to provide an excellent opportunity for British students to study and work with education institutions in China, bring their classroom training into exercises, and gain insights into culturally diverse education practices.

(Sponsored students could be liable for some or the entire course fees should they withdraw from their studies. Students are also responsible for their accommodation and travel fees as well as any Visa applications and other costs for travel to and whilst working in China)

Level 5 Teacher Training Diploma (DET) and BA (Hons) Educational Studies

Programme Specification

Duration: 3 Years

  • Year 1 – NCFE Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) includes teaching placements
  • Year 2 – China BA (Hons) Education Studies / Primary Education (PE, 3-11)
  • Year 3 – UK BA (Hons) Education Studies / Early Years Education (EYE)

All candidates need to:

  • be native English speakers aged 19 and over;
  • gain a total of 240 credits, 120 credits at level 4 (or equivalent) and 120 credits at level 5 in Early Years or a related subject;
